Blood Promise is the fourth book in the Vampire Academy Series. This story is well-written and features strong characters. YOU MUST READ THIS SERIES! It blows The Twilight Saga out of the water (and I'm a twilight fanatic)
Blood Promise blew me away! I am in love with Richelle Mead's work. Ever since I picked up a copy of Vampire Academy a few months ago. Blood Promise is my favorite by far. The characters are so real and developed. The plot is complicated but easy to follow. This book keeps you guessing and wanting more!

Morgan Sparks has the perfect life and the perfect boyfriend. But soon her boyfriend, Cameron Browne, starts acting funny and sprouting wings. Yes, wings. He's a fairy. His parents switched him with a human baby when he was born, to play a trick. But now the fairies need him back because his brother was killed and Cam is the next in line for the crown. A new boy, Pip, shows up and claims to be the Brownes' real son. Pip starts taking over Cam's life, replacing him. Morgan tries everything she can think of to keep Cam in the real world and send Pip back to the Other World.
I was very disappointed with this book. I was so excited when it came in the mail, but then I read it. It didn't have a hook to pull me into the story. I wish I could get my money back! The characters are flat and predictable. The whole plot is ridiculous and just bleh!
Now, I hate bashing a book, mainly because I know how much blood, sweat, and tears (mainly tears) goes into writing. I would hate for someone to bash my book. Even if they were just being honest. Books become our children. We care for them, watch them grow, and then push them out into the real world to be on their own. We grow attached and when someone says "Your book was horrible" they are really saying "That book that you obsessed/slaved over with all the plotting, writing, and editing wasn't good enough."
Cyn Balog knows how to write. I just think it was the predictable plot and characters that messed this book up. I'd still pick up a copy of her other books, but I would wait and get them at the library. This isn't the kind of book you would want to read twice!

I've just finished SHADOW KISS by Richelle Mead, a Vampire Academy Novel, and I have to tell you now, this book is action packed.
This story goes beyond the complicated relationship between Rose and Dimitri. Rose is seeing ghosts left and right, but she can't tell anyone, not even her best friend, Vasilisa Dragomir. I mean, what would you have done in her shoes? Have everyone think you're crazy? Or just write it off as stress induced, like Rose did? Also having to be on alert 24/6 for "fake" Strigoi attacks (attacks designed by her teachers to test her ability to fight back) for the field test, you can only imagine what Rose is dealing with.
Adrian and Lissa are exploring and learning how to control their element of spirit together, which makes Christan, Lissa's boyfriend, mighty jelous. How else would you expect a teenage guy, even a Moroi one, to feel when his girlfriend is hanging out with the hottest royal around?
Initiation ceremonies, secrets, lies, kisses, fights, death, this book has it all.
I found myself wanting to scream out to Rose to tell her to run and not look back, but then I remembered that it was 3 o'clock in the morning and it wouldn't be a great idea to shout and wake everyone up. I even teared up a little at the end. Just wow.
Bottom line is this: I would recommend this book, this whole series, to anyone who likes vampires, romance, mystery, and uncertainty. If this sounds cool, then this book is for you!
